Details on the Next Tomb Raider
9:47 AM | Eddie Park | Comment on this story

For gamers eagerly awaiting the next installment in the popular Tomb Raider series, the next Lara Croft title can't come soon enough. Though details have been scarce on the so-called Next-Gen Tomb Raider, Computer and Video Games recently received details from "solid sources" that may interest some readers.

In terms of story, Croft will reportedly begin the game in Paris, eventually moving to the undercity catacombs before ending up in a mental asylum. During the adventure, Croft spends most of her time trying to clear her name of a murder she didn't commit.

As far as gameplay details go, one of the departures from the previous titles is that Croft will now learn new abilities as she progresses, meaning that areas found early in the game may only be accessible later on once she's picked up a few new moves. Another departure is that Croft may now be sharing the spotlight with another playable character by the name of Curtis.

Speaking of names, C&VG also reports that the name of this next title is also in debate, with developer Core Design wishing to throw out the Tomb Raider title altogether.

As interesting as the above information may be, keep in mind that these are unconfirmed rumors at best. For more details, check out C&VG's article.
