RPG Roundup at MacGamez 10:32 AM | Andy Largent | Comment on this story
A four-game preview has been posted at MacGamez, with short overviews of some of the most anticipated upcoming RPGs for the Mac OS. Included in the first look is the now-shipping title Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Amn, another Infinity Engine game from MacPlay knows as Icewind Dale, the 3D RPG Neverwinter Nights and 'indie' game Gorky 17.
Since Gorky 17 is probably the least-known of the four, here's a clip about it from the preview:
After playing Gorky 17 for a few minutes, you come to the realization that the developer's goal for the graphics engine was to make the world as realistic as possible. The game characters are fully 3D with 2D rendered isometric backgrounds. Having 3D characters allows the developers to effectively use lighting effects, shadows and skeletal animations. Head over and check out the rest of the preview for details on these games coming to a Mac near you in the coming months.
