Command Control Escape recently posted new reviews of The Walking Dead: 400 Days, Borderlands 2: Tiny Tiny's Assault on Dragon Keep, and Napoleon: Total War - Gold Edition. 400 days centers around the stories of five new characters struggling to survive the first 400 days of the apocalypse, Tiny Tiny's Assault takes the zany shooter on a flight of fantasy into the mind of the diminutive Dungeon Master, and Napoleon is the latest installment of the Total War series to arrive for Macs.

From 400 Days review:

400 Days begins with selecting from five different characters. Contrary to my initial excitement over this, this choice is actually meaningless, as you’ll play all of the characters anyway, so you’re just choosing the order. Playing the characters like this isn’t a problem in and of itself; it gives the stories something of a non-linear narrative (each takes place a different number of days after the outbreak). The problem is that it means each storyline takes ten minutes to play through.

To their credit, Telltale have done a marvellous job of making each of those ten minutes count. Each of the vignettes is a fine example of storytelling and writing; we get to know each of the characters through their actions rather than exposition, but by the fifth one, the setup becomes formulaic, as in here’s this character, they’ll make one significant choice and develop a dark secret as a result (and regardless of the choice made).

From Tiny Tiny's Assault review:
The fourth significant add-on for Borderlands 2, Tiny Tina’s Assault on Dragon Keep reunites many of the most memorable characters from the series, in an outing into a fully realised take on fantasy CRPG territory. Reload those guns, because it’s time to do battle with skeletons, Orcs and dragons.

Yes, you read that correctly, you’re going to be using bullets against sword- and axe-wielding foes. It seemed completely wrong to me until I took my first steps towards a group of skeletal archers and had my shield depleted in an instant, at which point I switched to a rocket launcher and blew them to bits (before berating myself not to waste ammunition). So that was the first big plus for the DLC: it turns out that an assortment of fantasy villains can actually be quite fun to fight, even when you’re armed to the teeth with the most outrageous weaponry a cartoon future can offer.

From Napoleon review:
The monotony of the political side of the game can be broken up by entering into a battle and this is where Napoleon: Total War excels. As you might expect this occurs when your army meets an enemy on the map. Once you clash you will be able to choose a few different actions, you could choose to automatically resolve the battle, this involves the computer running a simulation to determine who would win, there is no player involvement here and from my own experience this option will cause much greater losses to yourself than if you were to fight the battle manually. If you did choose to fight the battle manually, you enter into the the real-time strategy element of the game, you can see your troops in their units on the battlefield, you position them and control their aiming and stance. You outmaneuver the enemy and attack using any tactical advantage you see fit.
