Strategy Informer has posted a new preview of Fatshark's upcoming post apocalyptic action RPG. The top down RPG takes place inside a giant impact crater where the inhabitants live on in the aftermath of a bomb. Krater will feature crafting, exploration, and consequence. One example of such consequence is the possibility that characters may suffer permanent injuries and death.
In terms of pure mechanics it plays out in a similar fashion as you might expect, with mouse clicks governing your attack targets and six hotkeys representing each of the two special skills available to individual party members. Your protagonists can be individually placed or moved as a group, and they take up roles based on one of four classes (loosely conforming to a tank, healer or DPS-type), which lend the action a nice MMO/RTS slant. The AI does a fairly good job of keeping your party members acting according to their individual class, but it quickly becomes apparent that micro-management produces the best results, and especially when it comes to healing.Read more at the page below.
Strategy Informer: Krater Preview
If your tank gets injured in battle and isnít patched up in time, he may well find himself permanently crocked, with no option to fix the damage. You can choose to replace your party members with recruits from around town, but thatíll cost you hard-earned rewards, and itíll mean that you sacrifice all of the stat boosts and upgrades that youíve already invested in that character. There are no re-rolls here, and outside of equipment, your choices are permanent.
