Blizzard Transcript, Founder Q&A

Two interesting Blizzard-related items have appeared recently on the Web. The first is a transcript from a chat hosted last night concerning Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos, the sequel to the popular series now in development. As expected many of the questions focused on their announcement yesterday of only having four races in the game, rather than the five originally promised. Here's a clip:
Why were the Demons removed as a playable race? Many other topics are asked about as well, like Heroes, a beta test (which is likely PC-only), and much more, so head over and give it a read.
We have been reviewing all the units and races in the game. During that process we felt that using the Demons as an ultra powerful NPC race would be a better option for the game, and allow us to make the other races have cooler, more concentrated spells and abilities.
A related article has been posted by PC.IGN, celebrating Blizzard's 10-year anniversary by talking with three of the company's founders: Allen Adham, Michael Morhaime, and Frank Pearce. It's an interesting retrospective on the company that has brought out so many fantastic titles for the Mac. Here's an excerpt from the interview:
IGNPC: So what does the next ten years hold in store for Blizzard? There is some very interesting information to be found, so be sure to check out the interview. Blizzard is set to release the Diablo II expansion for the Mac this summer, with Warcraft III to be completed early next year.
Mike Morhaime: Its a very exciting time to be making software. We're going to be looking at all the new advances going on in the world of technology and keep trying to come up with fun new ways to take advantage of them. I can't tell you what that will mean now, but it probably has something to do with the Internet, wireless devices, multiple platforms, amazing 3D graphics, and is much more immersive than what we can do today. I'd also like to see Blizzard Entertainment become more widely known to people outside hardcore gaming circles. Maybe we will even prove that a feature film based on a game license doesn't have to be bad.
