Starfleet Command II Q&A

An interview posted at Gamer's Pulse with Josh Morris of Talden discusses his latest game Starfleet Command II. In case you don't remember, this is one of the many Interplay titles being brought to the Mac this year from MacPlay. The game was recently released on the PC, and it has met with fairly good reviews (especially for a title from the Star Trek license). Here's an excerpt from the Q&A about that:
Unlike the past when the SFC series was one of the few high quality Star Trek games, there have been many recent or upcoming games that have broken that mold of bad Trek games. How do you feel this affects Starfleet Command and it's future? We agree whole-heartedly with a statement like that. Even non-Trekkies should be able to get excited about good games such as Elite Force or Starfleet Command II. Right now, there's no official word on when SCII will be released for the Mac other than sometime in 2001. We'll be sure to pass on any more specific info that we receive.

Do you think this added competition will be good for the franchise or burn it out?
JM: I think its great for the franchise. It will be nice not to have to read a couple paragraphs about the Star Trek curse every time you read about a new game. I have a lot of respect for the current Star Trek developers, and I look forward to playing there games. Good games are like Jell-o, there is always room for more.
