PlayworksOnline: Starcraft II Interview
Yes there was in a sense that we wanted the game to be accessible. We didn’t want anyone to do any homework in order to understand whats going on in the game. We needed to tell a story that would unfold at the start, and then meet characters on the player’s own terms, and kind of advance the story gradually. At the same time, we do not want to slow down the experience. So we worked really hard to find a balance between easing your way into the campaign and let the more experience players appreciate the old times and then blast off.
As of now how much of the Trilogy has already been done?
Generally, in broad strokes, we have big ideas about where everything goes, but at the same time, we try to leave some things open and loose enough to leave space for better ideas as we go along. When you work on a big plan, you can have alot of epic ideas, but when you turn your attention to something, and really focus on it – especially with alot of talented and creative people in the room even more great ideas are generated and we need to polish all of that to make it better and better.
