RealGamer has posted a new review of The Sims 3: Ambitions, the second expansion pack for The Sims 3. The add-on allows players to pursue a variety of paths and careers in their Sims’ lives that in turn "affect their overall gameplay experience and neighborhood." RealGamer gave the game a score of 7 out of 10.
From the review:
The Sims 3: Ambitions is centred around the world of work and offers a host of new careers such as Fire-fighter, Architect, Ghost-Hunter, Private Investigator, Stylist and Doctor and rather than just waving your Sims off to work each morning, you now get to go with them and control their actions throughout their working day.The full review is available from the website linked below.
RealGamer: The Sims 3 Ambitions Review
Ambitions comes with a brand new neighbourhood (TwinBrook) so to test the new features, I created a new family here. Besides the usual addition of a few new clothes and hairstyles, Ambitions also brings with it a small collection of new character traits in which to bless/curse your Sim with, some of which relate to the new careers (for instance, the brave trait goes well with the fire-fighter profession whilst the “perceptive” trait fits in nicely with the private investigator career and others just add a little depth to the Sims characters such as “dramatic” and “eco-friendly”. Other traits include “savvy sculptor”, “born salesman/woman” and “eccentric.”
Besides the new careers, Ambitions also adds new skills and hobbies, including inventing, sculpting and tattooing and Sims skilled in these areas, as well as fishing, gardening, photography and writing can even take themselves down to the town hall and register themselves as self employed!
