PC Gamer has posted a new video revealing the newest unit for S2 Games' Heroes of Newerth. The Gladiator is a combat character scheduled to debut with today's update for the game. S2 has also announced a free to play weekend for those who still have an older non purchased beta account.
The game allows two teams of up to five players to take on the roles of heroes and work with AI controlled armies to destroy an enemy team's base. HoN features upgradeable skills, powerful items to purchase, VOIP controls, Clan Support, and dozens of playable Hero characters from which to choose.
From PC Gamer:
Gladiators are kings of arena combat, used to fighting to the death on a daily basis. We’ve got the exclusive video of the new Gladiator hero coming to Heroes of Newerth this Friday, and he can’t wait to kick your face in!Free2Play Weekend:
From the video, it looks like he’s going to be a high DPS hero, with a healthy amount of CC thrown in (think Kunkka from the original DotA). Wielding a massive sword in one hand, a whip in the other, and a terrfying amount of muscle all over his body, The Gladiator can throw down spring spike traps underneath his enemies to immobilize and debuff them, recall them to a previous location, whip them across the body for heavy damage, and call in the calvary to reinforce him–his chariot speeds behind him and runs down his enemies, dealing damage and stunning them.
Heroes of Newerth This Friday we have a great patch coming to HoN with a full Rampage rework, new hero Gladiator, Report A Player functionality, new item, and a bunch of balance tweaks. To celebrate this excellent patch we are giving all old, non purchased beta accounts a Free2Play weekend. Starting Friday at noon EST and ending Sunda...y 11:59pm EST anyone can login with their old beta account and enjoy HoN once again.Visit the links below to read more.
