Update on Rogue Spear, Driver

IMG spoke briefly with Al Schilling of MacSoft, a Mac porting house and publisher which does not intend to be left out of the huge slew of Fall and Winter Mac game releases. According to Al the long-awaited (and long-delayed) 70s-style racing game Driver should be declared 'golden master' any day now. Supposedly the only thing between this game and the boxed version are a few minor installer issues. Driver is a racing title which was a big hit on the Playstation, and puts you behind the wheel as an undercover cop acting as a 'wheelman' for the Mafia. Yes, a racing game with a plot, and an intriguing one at that.
We also checked up on the status of Rainbow Six: Rogue Spear, the sequel to the popular ultra-realistic squad-based shooter from Tom Clancy's Red Storm. Currently, this game is in original publisher Activision's Q&A testing, and should also be declared Gold Master in the next few weeks. MacSoft is anticipating an early December release for both titles, just in time to put them on your Christmas list. The Mac version of Rogue Spear will include the expansion pack "Urban Operations" for free.
There will be demos released for both titles after they have shipped; we're suspicious you will be able to find them at Macgamefiles.com.
