Sanford May, content guru from the Gathering of Developers' web site, has posted an insightful article on the current state of Mac gaming. In the article, May talks about the virtues of being a Mac developer as well as being a fan of the platform. Here's a sample from the article:
Support from game developers and publishers is the last and inarguably the most important link in the Mac gaming chain. Without new games that flaunt the latest technology, there will be no advance in Mac gaming. At Gathering of Developers, the developing and publishing efforts are dedicated to making exceptional games available to those who will get excited about them and those who will play the hell out of them, regardless of their choice in computing platform. Chief executive officer Mike Wilson summarizes the Mac attitude at Gathering well in saying, "We are lucky enough to work with some of the best game developers in the world, and those developers almost universally want to support the Mac platform. Our goal at Gathering is to bring this amazing content to as many audiences as possible."Be sure the check out the rest of the article by visiting the Gathering of Developers web site. GoD has already brought 4x4 Evolution and Heavy Metal: F.A.K.K. 2 to the Mac OS, and will be publishing Rune, Oni and Tropico in the future.
