Myst Online: URU Previewed

Ten Ton Hammer has posted a new preview of Myst Online: Uru Live, the upcoming massively multiplayer addition to Cyan Worlds' popular puzzle solving series. The game will feature avatar customization, cooperative puzzle solving, a rich storyline, and a growing world to explore.
The writing of Myst Online is also exceptional – if ever there were an MMO created for English majors, this is it. That doesn’t mean the prose is over-the-top or that Cyan Worlds is in love with its own voice, only that you’ll need to take it slow if you’re used to breezing through quest dialogues. Click on the link below to read the rest of the preview. The Mac Myst Online is set to go into beta testing soon.
Ten Ton Hammer: Myst Uru Preview
“Alone or together, find a way. Alone or together, make a home.” With this, an syrupy female voice impels you towards a whole new way to play Myst. You’ll start out decidedly alone for the opening segment, however, and I quickly found out that (like the sundry iterations of Myst before it) this is not a game for the feint of heart. Not sure if you’re more the cheap thrills or the cranial drills type of gamer? The “tutorial” segment will sort that out for you. No floating exclamation points in day-glo colors here, you have to click on stuff in the Nexus to find your way to the tutorial area – the “Cleft”. Here you’ll meet Zandy, an easygoing interlocutor perched on a lounger underneath the awning of his RV a short distance from the cleft. He’ll clue you in on what you should do next should you need him (and if you’re new to the Myst way of doing things, you almost certainly will).
