Update on Mac Red Faction

For some time we've been bringing you news of the upcoming first-person shooter Red Faction, a revolutionary title in development by Volition for Mac, PC and PS2. This shooter features a deep story line, amazing visuals and the unique Geo-Mod engine which allows you to blow gaping holes in walls and floors, collapse buildings by destroying their supports and even burrow tunnels into the ground.
However, one angle that has been lacking in coverage of this game is news on how the actual development of the Mac version is progressing. With the recent confirmation that the in-game level editor for Red Faction will most likely not make it into the Mac OS version, we felt it was time to get the real story on the progress of this title.
Alan Lawrance was quick to reply, offering the following update:
We haven't got a Mac version running yet... our lead platform is actuallyRed Faction is due for Mac, PC and PS2 in the first quarter of next year, perhaps as early as March. For more details, visit the web site.
the PS2, and most of our resources are going in that direction now. We are
planning to take advantage of the OpenGL work that Mark Allender will be
doing for the Mac version of Summoner, so we don't expect it to be too
difficult to get our Mac version running.
