MacBooks Receive Core 2 Duo Update
7:47 AM | IMG News | 1 comment

While not entirely unexpected, Apple has today announced a new generation of their consumer-level MacBook computers running on Intel Core 2 Duo processors. While the same clockspeeds as before (1.83 or 2.0GHz), Apple claims this latest revision of Intel processors result in a 25% performance improvement.

Most everything else appears to be the same about these notebooks. They still sport the Intel 950 graphics chipset and a glossy 13.3" screen. The 1.83GHz model has 2MB of shared L2 cache, while the 2.0GHz models feature 4MB, and all share a 667MHz front-side bus speed.

The MacBooks still sit at the $1,100, $1,300, and $1,500 price points. For much more on these new MacBooks, be sure to head over to Apple's site.
