FiringSquad: Did the idea for making a Penny Arcade game come before the formation of Hothead Games or after and how did the team approach "Gabe" and "Tycho" with the idea? The full interview is available at the site listed below.
Joel DeYoung: We've been fans of the comic strip for quite some time, and some of the Hothead guys have known the Penny Arcade guys personally for a while. As for why they chose us to work with them, they can likely shed light on that. We're just thrilled they chose us to build their first game.
FiringSquad: How hard was it to develop a game that is based largely on a web comic that concentates on being critical of the games industry?
Joel DeYoung: The Penny Arcade guys are probably the best to answer this one. I know it's the subject of one of their strips coming up this week, so the irony is certainly not lost on them.
FiringSquad: How much input will the Penny Arcade creators have in the making of the game?
Joel DeYoung: We're definitely making the game *with* them, and everyone is focusing on what they do best. Jerry is writing the story and dialogue, Mike is providing the art direction and we're focused on gameplay. It's a truly collaborative effort.
