Macworld's Game Room has posted a review of TBG Software's sci fi strategy title, DropTeam. Set in outer space, DropTeam nevertheless offers realistic battlefield conditions, physics, and ballistics as players wage war to conquer planets. The Game Room gave DropTeam a score of 3.5 out of 5 mice.
From the review:
One thing thatís really kind of cool about DropTeam is its ability to let you play either on the battlefield or in the war room. While you can certainly go out and command a tank or armored transport and watch whatís going on the battlefield yourself, you donít have to do thatóa tactical screen lets you order your units around, attack, defend, move, and more without having to do it yourself. Itís certainly a lot more fun to sit in the gunnerís seat and actually take aim at the bad guys, but sometimes itís more effect to channel your inner Rommel (or Patton, as the case may be).The full review can be found at the site listed below.
Macworld Game Room: DropTeam Review
DropTeam isnít the best looking game in the worldótextures tend to run pretty simple, and most of the objects are fairly low-polygon count 3-D models, though they all look appropriate to the environment. But the graphics engine isnít really DropTeamís strong suitóitís the realistic physical modeling thatís going on here, and the use of real strategy and understanding of battlefield conditions thatís needed to win the game.
