Hirakemi International has released a Mac version of Animamundi, a Japanese "visual novel" with a gothic horror theme. The tale revolves around Count Georik Zaberisk's venture into the dark arts as he struggles to restore the health of his sister. Set in a fictional Eastern European town, Animamundi features vampires, alchemists, and the demon Mephistopheles. Although players are given chances to direct the course of the story at certain key points, the tale unfolds through still images and animation.

Not a tale for the kiddies, Animamundi has a recommended age range of 17 and up. The Mac version is compatible with systems running OS 9.1 through 10.4.
