Islands Mini Golf Reviewed

Macworld's Game Room recently reviewed Islands Mini Golf 1.4 from Danlab Games. Islands gives miniature golfing fans the chance to play through 90 holes over a total of five 3D courses, each with a distinct look and feel. The Game Room gave Islands Mini Golf 4.5 out of 5 mice.
The game features its own custom soundtrack—which is fabulous—and adequate sound effects. It also features absolutely gorgeous graphics that really help set the tone for the game. A new feature in the 1.4 update adds water shaders for OS X 10.4 users, so the water that surrounds the island (and often figures into traps and hazards) has a shimmering, wavy quality that’s quite beautiful. This replaces a more simple translucent shader that is still an option—useful if your Mac isn’t fast enough or doesn’t have good enough graphics hardware to make the most of the game’s ability. Minimum system requirements call for a 400MHz G4 processor and OS X 10.3, so older systems should be able to play. Just in case, there’s a downloadable demo you can try out to see for yourself. To read the full review and learn more about the game follow the links below.
