iGame Radio Chats With Julian Dibbell 8:45 AM | Tuncer Deniz | Comment on this story
On tonight's broadcast of iGame Radio, host Omaha Sternberg chats with Julian Dibbell, the gamer and journalist that dared to pay his taxes on his in-game item sales. For one year, Julian moved forward with a "dubious proposition", in which he intended to make his primary source of income from the sale of imaginary goods, and would truthfully report to the IRS his taxable income from that source. During this time, he blogged about his activities on his site, Play Money. Author of many articles on the cyberworld, especially online gaming, and soon-to-be author of a book about Play Money, we'll talk to Julian about his writings, Play Money, the economies of online games, and where he will be going from here.Omaha will also offer Mac gaming news, reviews, commentary, and giveaways, and together with her guest will take questions live from listeners in the iGame Radio chat room (AIM/iChat room name "iGameRadio") and on the air (using the VoIP software Skype; see the rules regarding this method on the iGame Radio home page). iGame Radio can be heard live on MacRadio from 6 to 7:30 pm Pacific Time, 9 to 10:30 pm Eastern (Tuesday from 0200 to 0330 UTC), and on demand thereafter. Listeners can tune in at the iGame Radio web page, where they'll also find archives of past broadcasts. QuickTime 5 or above and a 56 kbps or faster Internet connection are required for the live broadcast; QuickTime 5 and above, or iTunes 4.9 or other MP3 enabled software (such as iPodderX), are required for access to the archives.
