HexCat's shareware title Sudoku Adept has recently been bumped up to version 1.1. A grid-based puzzle title, Sudoku challenges players to cover a board so that every row, column, and 3x3 block contains the numbers 1-9. The latest version allows for the creation of custom user puzzles.
For those interested in the mechanics, or for those having trouble, Robert Woodhead offers Sudoku Susser. This utility provides hints and solves Sudoku puzzles in a variety of fashions, including step-by-step solutions and various highlighting methods.
The Sudoku Susser makes it easy to make your selections as you solve the puzzle; just click on one of them and select the new number from the popup menu that appears, or mouse over it and press the number on the keyboard. But it does far more than that! Both of these apps can be downloaded from MacGameFiles. Sudoku Adept carries a small shareware fee, while Sudoku Susser can be used free of charge.
