Zebulon, Reckless Driving Updated 10:18 AM | Eddie Park | Comment on this story
Jonas Echterhoff has noted the recent updates of two of his Mac shareware titles. The first, Zebulon, has been bumped up to version 1.1 and now features gamepad support. The second, Reckless Drivin', is now at version 1.51, with the update containing some fixes for users with low-end graphics hardware. Zebulon is a 3D platformer where players must scale a series of towers, running and jumping past both obstacles and enemies. Reckless Drivin' is a top-down driving game that allows players to speed their way through a variety of roads while causing as much havoc as possible. Reckless Drivin' follows the same basic principle, however, it has been completely rewritten from scratch, and it employs a new graphics engine featuring smooth, dynamically zoomed, scrolling 16-bit graphics. The physics simulation has been redesigned to realistically resemble skidding and tire tracks on different road surfaces. Both demos and the latest versions of each title can be downloaded directly from Echterhoff's site. Echetrhoff is also currently working on Redline, a 3D driving simulator to be published by Ambrosia Software.
