Gamecloud recently interviewed Tim Larkin, audio director for Cyan Worlds, about the recently released Myst V: End of Ages. Much of the interview deals with the nuts and bolts of crafting soundtracks for games like Myst, but it does touch briefly on Cyan World's recent difficulties.
Gamecloud - Cyan Worlds was shut down for a few weeks after the completion of the game but now they are back in business. Can you give us more details about what happened and also how it feels to be back to work at Cyan again? For the full interview follow the link below.
Gamecloud: Tim Larkin Interview
Tim Larkin - We'll, we were pretty sure that it was over. There were a few long shots left, but it was decided that instead of leaving everyone hanging, we'd close and have the opportunity and time to look elsewhere for those who needed to. When the word came in that we were coming back, I think those that wanted to stay were pretty relieved. Spokane doesn't have much more in the way of game companies or anything similar. It's pretty much a one horse town. It's good to be able to stay here. I enjoy Spokane, and I'm happy to be back.
