Bytesector is the latest site to offer a review of Introversion Software's Darwinia, a unique real time strategy game with a retro look. Darwinia enlists players in the fight to save a virtual theme park world from the assault of a deadly computer virus. Bytesector examines each aspect of the game in detail and declares it a "pleasure to play."
From the review:
In terms of the Darwinians, well let's just say they don't exactly live the most exciting lives. They live their entire lives working at the various locations (mines, construction yards, etc.) across Darwinia, die, and then are just reborn to start the cycle over again. They are quite content with this life, but now that the virii have disrupted their cycle, they are out for revenge. These guys are the key to the fight for Darwinia. Most of the game's areas require Darwinians to operate machinery that works with machinery in other areas to achieve a greater good. With certain upgrades and research, they can even become formidable warriors in the battle against the virii. While the Darwinians may look useless, just remember that without them, you won't stand a chance. It is for this reason that harvesting the maximum number of souls possible before they float away into the sky is essential for success. For the full review and more information about the game follow the links below.
