Hands on With Age of Empires III for PC

Planetageofmythology.com has released a large feature on Age of Empires III. The feature covers the new card system, the home cities, various groups and their powers, and quite a bit of the new game's strategies.
The very first AOEIII game we played on our trip was this random matchup 2v2. I was playing British with my new lvl 1 home city Fogtown, on my newly created ESOII account. The three of them wanted to do HG vs PAOM, though I must admit I was a bit too much of a chicken to accept.:) I'm going to take some journalistic liberties here and say the map we played was Carolinas, a random map that has extra resource crates around your Home City at the start of the game. I'm not positive this first game was on that map, but it gives me the excuse to bring up a fun aspect to the British bonus which has received a lot of community speculation: British build Manor Houses that spawn villagers once complete.Since the previous games in the Age of Empires series have been ported to Mac, we're hopeful this latest episode should follow in that tradition after its PC release.
