Darwinia Plans for Demo, Gestures

The folks at Introversion have posted a significant update concerning their RTS title Darwinia. Apparently, Darwinia hasn't been selling as well as they had hoped. According to player feedback, the two main reasons for this seem to be that the level included with the current demo is a less than exemplary one, and that the gesture control scheme is not a favored one.
To address these, Darwinia will be undergoing some significant revisions, including an all-new level specifically for the demo version as well as a more conventional icon-based control scheme.
As we are using an entirely new control mechanism for the new Demo, we will also need to release a patch to the full game that allows it to be played using that same new control mechanism. This will be patch 1.3, and we expect to begin testing shortly after the new demo test begins. We intend to launch the new demo AND patch 1.3 on the same day, or as close as possible.Gamers who still favor the gesture scheme will find it readily available via a menu option when the revamped version of Darwinia comes out.
To expedite the process, Introversion is currently looking for beta testers. Unfortunately, at this point, they're only looking for Windows testers, but they note that other platforms will follow. Their roadmap plan currently shows a release date of September for the OS X version of the planned 1.3 update.
