Server Trouble in WoW After Release of Patch

Everyone wants to get in on the new Honor System in World of Warcraft, Blizzard's extremely popular MMORPG. With the new version 1.4 patch released just today, Blizzard's servers experienced a good deal of downtime throughout the day. Tonight, servers buzz with activity, as players test out the changes and begin to earn honor points.
Blizzard talks about the Honor System:
When you kill other players or aggressive PvP-enabled non-player characters (NPCs) in your level range, you will receive an honorable kill. All your honorable kills for a week are then calculated to give you an honor score for that week, which then translates into an honor ranking. This honor ranking carries with it titles and material rewards, and eventually, officer status and other perks. All the buzz means busy servers though, and people who play on high population servers may be in for an unpleasant surprise in the next few days. Lag has been really horrific in some cases, with latency up to 10 times higher than usual. Maybe now's the time to play that character on the low population server.
