FileFront has posted the results of a short interview with Jonathan Smith, Director for the upcoming title Lego Star Wars. As the title suggests, this game looks to recreate the Star Wars experience using a world built from the popular toy series, using story material from Episodes I-III to flesh things out.
Topics discussed in the interview include the reasoning behind buliding a Lego Star Wars world and gameplay features, including the ability to play with one or two people at anytime:
We have a feature called "drop-in/drop-out" play, which means that a second player can join in the action at any time. Two players can play simultaneously through the whole game if they like.Smith also points to the Free Play mode, which will allow players to take any character and plant them into any scene. He also notes that the game will feature a variety of controllable characters as well as a number of Force powers.
i5works is currently handling the porting of this title to the Mac, with Aspyr handling the publishing. The current target for release is around August 2005.
