Starsiege Moves to the Garage; Mac Possibility?
8:14 AM | Andy Largent | Comment on this story
Clanlore, creators of the mech game Starsiege 2845, have announced they will be switching gears to use Garage Games' Torque engine. This will enable the team to take the game from being a modification of Tribes: Vengeance to a fully standalone title.
Additionally for Mac users, the prospect of using Torque means the game has instant cross-platform potential. The team is aware of this and producer Jake Massie has already commented in games forums:
I know this is a long shot, but if TorqueGFX gets the OpenGL treatment, could an Apple or Linux port happen?Starsiege 2845 is set in the same universe at the Tribes series of games, though takes the title to a fully mechanized vehicle mode. For much more information, check out their official site, and be sure to stay tuned to IMG for any other word on the possibility of a Mac port.
