Age of Empires III Q&A

Online gaming site TotalVideoGames.com has posted a question and answer session with Ensemble Studios' lead designer Greg Street, talking about the latest entry in the Age of Empires series, Age of Empires III. The article covers the development of the game to this point, what sets it apart from other games in the series, and what will set it apart from other RTS games.
Greg had this to say about what is already done in the game at this point and what could change during playtesting:
We have almost the entire game in place. We didn’t want to announce AOEIII too early, and then disappoint fans when features changed. So we kept our hand of cards close to our chest until we had a design that was really stable. We have been working on AOEIII since Age of Mythology was finished, and the game has changed a hundred times since that point, but we’re enormously proud of the gameplay we have now. Sure, we’ll continue to tweak and polish everything from unit stats to UI elements, and some of that will definitely be based on feedback from fans and the media who get an early peek at the game.Though not yet announced for the Macintosh, both Age of Empires and Age of Empires II have made it here.
