IMG reported last week that Aspyr Media had a Mac patch in the works for Call of Duty, and as promised, the company has now released an update which brings the game to version 1.5. Mac players can once again join their PC counterparts in the online multiplayer modes.
The 20MB download also brings a number of fixes with it, including many for online play and changes to make it easier for mod-makers to create scenarios for Call of Duty. Additionally, one new multiplayer map is included:
Tigertown is a small farm town located in Normandy, France which has been partially destroyed by a heavy artillery attack. The environment is designed for "Search and Destroy" as the American Airborne forces push their way up the town's hillside to knock out the flak88 and Tiger tank heavily guarded by the German Waffen SS. The Allied forces need to attack strategically and gain ground quickly so as to distract the Axis from properly defending their positions. Precision flanking from both sides is a key factor when taking over and controlling the town.Head over to Macgamefiles now to download this update. It should also be noted a separate patch for the expansion United Offensive will be released shortly, as this one only affects the main application.
