Wolfire Software has announced the official release of Lugaru. Featuring anthropomorphic rebel bunny rabbit, Lugaru pitches players headlong into a conspiracy involving corrupt rabbit leaders, starving wolves, and the freeing of slaves.
One of the primary features in Lugaru is its combat system, which allows for a variety of context-sensitive moves:
Instead of relying on confusing button combinations to perform moves, Lugarus moves are all logical and context sensitive. For example, if an opponent aims a roundhouse kick at Turners head, you can crouch and then stand up under the attack to grab your assailants leg and kick him away. If you try and punch an opponent and he tries to throw you over his shoulder, you can crouch to roll painlessly out of the throw.Lugaru also contains a stealth element, requiring players to clean the blood off their weapons as well as deal with sounds generated by players and enemies alike.
Those who wish to try out Lugaru can download a free demo from Wolfire's site or Macgamefiles.com. Movies and screenshots are also available for those looking for more info. Registration for the full version is set at $19.95.
