GamersInfo.net has posted an interview with Alex Austin and Josiah Pisciotta of Chronic Logic. Makers of titles such as Bridge Builder, CL has recently seen much praise from their unique indie title Gish, which has been hailed by many as a fine example of modern 2D gaming.
The interview discusses CL's origins, including how Bridge Builder came about and why it was successful. Also discussed is the topic of casual gaming in terms of market share:
Right now the casual gaming market is overcrowded, too many people think they can make a puzzle game in a few months and get rich. What they don't realize is you have to spend the next year doing a huge amount of marketing if you want to succeed. I think there will always be a demand for games that you can play without a huge commitment however, but that doesn't necessarily have to be a puzzle game.Naturally, Gish's origins and design philosophies are also discussed, including Gish's pacing and how it manages to be a puzzle game without looking like one. As for future products, CL notes that they're currently working on a golf title.
