Aspyr Media has released a multiplayer demo of Battlefield 1942: Deluxe Edition. The demo, available for download from Macgamefiles.com, allows gamers to experience online play using the free GameRanger game matching service. To play the demo, you must first run the GameRanger application and either host a Battlefield 1942 Demo game or join an existing Battlefield 1942 Demo game. The demo version of Battlefield 1942 will not allow use of the in-game browser and does not play online with the full retail PC or Mac versions. The retail version of Battlefield 1942 does have an in-game browser and plays against both PCs and Macs.
To download the 282 MB demo, head over to Macgamefiles.com. Links to download it either via bittorrent or http are provided. IMG Pro users are encouraged to use their hot downloads page to download the demo off of IMG's servers.
Don't have time to download the demo? No problem. The next MacGames DVD, Volume 4, is entering duplication tomorrow and will be shipping shortly. If you don't have a subscription to the MacGames DVD, now would be the perfect time to subscribe.
