Brothers in Arms a Mac Possibility? 8:20 AM | Andy Largent | Comment on this story
In a recent IRC chat, Randy Pitchford of Gearbox Software (the company most recently behind the PC port of Halo) revealed it's likely their upcoming first-person shooter Brothers in Arms would make it to the Mac platform as well. While some will groan at the idea of another World War II-based shooter, Brothers in Arms is being pitched by Gearbox and publisher Ubisoft an as FPS with a heavy emphasis on squad-based teamplay and a compelling story. Here's what Pitchford had to say on the possibility of a Mac port: <@[PCG]Norman> Hello, I just wanted to ask if there's any chance of a Macintosh version of this game in the future. Will there ever be a Linux version of this game? 64bit support?<@Randy_Pitchford> There is very likely to be a Mac version. I don't have much hope for a commercial Linux version, although I wouldn't rule out the possibility of Linux binaries. Check out the rest of the chat log for more information on the game. While this is hardly an official announcement, we'll keep you posted on any new word on a Mac port.
