ATI Display Utilities 4.4 with OEM Support Released, More 2:47 PM | Lucian Fong | Comment on this story
ATI has released a major update to their ATI Display Utilities, which officially enables OpenGL Overrides for ATI video cards that shipped in Apple's computers, including CTO (configure to order), built-in and mobile products. OpenGL Overrides greatly enhance image quality in games and allows full-scene anti-aliasing (FSAA) and anisotropic filtering (AF) to be enabled or disabled on a per application basis. Version 4.4 also adds Mac2TV support to products with TV out, including OEM 9600- and 9800-class products using the Apple G5 video output adapter. Other new features require the Radeon Universal ROM Update, which was also released today. The ROM update fixes several issues relating to ATI's retail Radeon products. Both updates are available to Jaguar and Panther users. Before installing the software, please uninstall any "hacks" and read the documentation linked below.
