uDevGames 2004 Update: 69 Entries In Development 6:00 AM | Jean-Luc Dinsdale | Comment on this story
A quick visit over to Macintosh gaming resource center iDevGames.com will reveal that this year's uDevGames 2004 programming contest will be its busiest year yet, with a record-breaking 69 registered entries in the works. Hosted by Macintosh gaming resource center iDevGames, the annual event, whose goals are to encourage the creation of new and original games for the Mac and showcase the brightest and most creative upcoming game developers for the platform, has grown into the premier gaming event for the Macintosh platform - a far cry from the grass-roots initiative of the contest's first year. One third of the way into this year's contest, it appears as if the 2004 edition of the popular Mac game development contest will be the busiest, and most successful yet. The 69 entries currently registered cover the gamut of gaming styles, from remakes of popular old standards to entirely new game design concepts. This year's contest also bears the proud support of 63 official industry sponsors, from graphic card manufacturers ATI Technologies to independent game publishers Garage Games. While the contest's official start was August 9th of this year, budding game developers wanting to get into the action are reminded that they can still register and participate in this year's event. Contest hopefuls have until October 25th to register their entries, with a game playable deadline of November 6th. Public voting will take place between November 8th and 22nd, with the winning entries to be announced on December 6th. Good luck to all the contestants in this year's event. Stay tuned to IMG as we'll keep you abreast of the contest's development, and make sure to drop by the uDevGames official website to check out the latest builds of all of this year's registered entries.
