Mercury New's online section has posted an interesting article on the Mac gaming world, taken from a PC gamer's perspective. The theme of the article is based around dispelling myths that have been built up around Macs and their ability to game. It pits the Mac as a capable gaming platform and states that the only problem that the platform has is port times of around 6 months, not the quality.
...according to NPD Group analyst Ross Rubin, the top 20 Windows games account for about 80 percent of sales, and most of those games make it to the Mac.The Mac gaming world needs more of this good publicity if it is to become the mainstream gaming platform it deserves to be.
Here's a longer extract to give you a better feel for the article:
There are a few developers dedicated to releasing games for the Mac simultaneously with Windows versions. That includes Vivendi Universal's Blizzard Entertainment, which is preparing to release the ``World of Warcraft'' fantasy online role-playing game. Ubisoft is prepping a simultaneous Windows/Mac launch for its ``Myst IV Revelation'' game coming this year.Check out the article over at MercuryNews.com and make sure to tell your PC gamer friends!
