Hitman: Absolution - Elite Edition Strikes This Spring
12:25 PM | Cord Kruse | 2 comments

Feral Interactive today announced that the innovative stealth-action game Hitman: Absolution - Elite Edition, which challenges players to perform assassinations in creative ways, will be released on the Mac this Spring. Developed by Io-Interactive and published by Square Enix for PC and consoles, Hitman: Absolution - Elite Edition brings Hitman’s charismatic Agent 47 to the Mac platform for the first time.

“In Hitman: Absolution - Elite Edition, players who take the time to explore will discover a wealth of lethal opportunities,” said David Stephen, Managing Director of Feral Interactive. “A nightclub owner who decides to party the night away beneath a precariously-hanging disco ball is just asking for trouble...”

Agent 47, a genetically-engineered contract killer, has taken on a very personal assignment: protecting a vulnerable girl with whom he shares an unhappy connection. Hunted by the police, marked for death by his former employers and locked in conflict with a ruthless arms dealer, 47 must use his enhanced instincts and deadly skills to eliminate his enemies and save the girl.

As Agent 47, players will become the ultimate assassin as they master superhuman reflexes, creative stealth techniques and a powerful arsenal of weapons to pull off both clean kills and dramatic executions. While using disguises and distractions to remain undetected, resourceful players can exploit environmental hazards to pull off imaginative hits that make deaths look like accidents.

All previously released additional content will be included in Hitman: Absolution - Elite Edition, including Hitman: Sniper Challenge. In this standalone mission, players engineer a long-range hit, using only their sharp-shooting abilities to pull off audacious kills and cover their tracks.

Hitman: Absolution - Elite Edition also includes 'Contracts', a mission-creation mode where players can roam the story mode levels, assassinate targets of their choice by any means possible, then challenge other players to do the same by sharing the contracts online.

Pricing, system requirements and a minisite dedicated to Hitman: Absolution – Elite Edition will be available closer to the release date. A trailer for Hitman: Absolution - Elite Editionis available now on Feral's YouTube channel.

More information about the game will be released as it nears release.

Follow The Path At MGS
12:25 PM | IMG News | Comment on this story

The Path from Tale of Tales and TransGaming is available now for purchase and download at Mac Game Store. Basing the title on the path taken to grandmother's house by Little Red Ridinghood in the classic tale, the experimental game attempts to remove some of the goal oriented focus of other titles to delve into what happens between the beginning and end of a frightening story.

The Path is a horror game inspired by older versions of Little Red Riding hood, set in modern day. The Path offers an atmospheric experience of exploration, discovery and introspection through a unique form of gameplay, designed to immerse you deeply into its dark themes. Every interaction in the game expresses an aspect of the narrative. The six protagonists each have their own age and personality and allow the player to live through the tale in different ways. Most of the story, however, relies on your active imagination.

The Path is designed with accessibility in mind. There are no ticking clocks or monsters to defeat. No hard puzzles will ever halt your progress. Most activities in the game are entirely optional and voluntary. The player has all the freedom in the world to explore and experience.

The Path is an independently created video game. It was developed with digital distribution in mind. The characters in this virtual world, including the player's avatars, are governed by a form of artificial intelligence that gives them some autonomy. As a result, nobody knows exactly what you will encounter on your journeys.

Next to the multi-layered stylized graphics, The Path features a continuous soundtrack composed by goth rock diva Jarboe (ex-Swans). In fact, there are hardly any sound effects in the game. Instead the music is continuously changing according to what is happening in the game. Like the behaviours of the characters, the music too is never exactly the same twice.

Requirements:

  • Mac OS X 10.5.8 or later
  • Dual Core Intel Mac
  • 1 GB RAM
  • 583 MB HD Space
  • Video:
    • ATI Radeon X1600
    • NVIDIA GeForce 7300 GT
The Path is available now for $9.99 (USD).
