Paradox Interactive has announced a January 14 release date for Conquest of Paradise, the upcoming first expansion for Europa Universalis IV. The add-on will feature a completely randomized American continent and the chance to play as either a Colonial or a Native American nation.
Description:Head over to the link below for more information.
Paradox Interactive (add to watch list)
The expansion allows you to send your ships off to the west and discover a new world, unlike any you’ve seen before – for the first time in a Paradox Development Studio game, you are given the option to discover a completely randomized American continent.
Conquest of Paradise also offers the possibility to play as a Native American nation and master the federation mechanics and national ideas that are unique for the nations.
The age of exploration is brought to life in this epic game of trade, diplomacy, warfare and exploration by Paradox Development Studio, the Masters of Strategy. Europa Universalis IV gives you control of a nation to rule and to build into an empire that lasts through the ages.
- Discover a new world. A randomized New World means that no playthrough will be the same. Establish colonies to reap the riches, trade with the native tribes, or conquer them and take their land for yourself.
- Colonial Nations. Colonial Nations will be created out of larger colonies.
- Manage colonies or play as the colony. The colonies can manage their own affairs, declare colonial war or even strive for liberty from their motherland, or you can choose to take direct control of the colony and play as the new nation instead.
- Expanded Native American gameplay. Native American Nations have their own new federation mechanic, unique ideas and buildings and can migrate to greener pastures. Conquest of Paradise includes over two dozen Native American nations to play as well as new events and decisions.

Wasteland 2 Beta & Early Access
6:00 AM | Cord Kruse | 1 comment
InXile Entertainment has released the beta version of its upcoming Wasteland 2 RPG, and has also given interested gamers the chance to join the testing through Steam Early Access. A sequel to the classic post-apocalyptic RPG of the 80's, Wasteland 2 will be a top down, turn-based, tactical RPG that the developers promise will "stay true to its roots."
“It is hard to believe that after 20 years we’re finally at a place where we can get Wasteland 2 into the hands of our backers,” says Brian Fargo, inXile CEO. “It is has been quite a road to get here. The possibility of Wasteland 2 even entering production looked like it was over until Kickstarter appeared and allowed us to finally make this game together with our fans. And now we’ll continue the process of making the game with them.” Learn more at the links below.
Wasteland 2 Beta Goes Live
For the first time, gamers are getting the chance to play inXile entertainment’s Wasteland 2, which was successfully crowdfunded through Kickstarter in April 2012. More than ten thousand backers entered the backer beta on Wednesday, through their Kickstarter or late pledges to the project. Wasteland 2 has also entered Steam Early Access, to allow late backers to purchase and jump on immediately.
Wasteland 2 is a post-apocalyptic RPG with old-school sensibilities, with a heavy focus on tactical turn-based combat, a deep and open world and reactivity to player choices. It is the sequel to 1988’s Wasteland, with the player taking control of a party of Desert Rangers striving to bring peace to the wastes. Set 15 years after the original, the game does not require familiarity with the original’s plot but does follow up on the original’s story in many ways.
The Wasteland 2 beta consists of the first four major areas of the game and related minor maps, along with character creation, world map travel, and random encounters. More areas will be added as the beta progresses. Beta backers and early access gamers will get exactly the same content here.
