6:00 AM | Cord Kruse | Comment on this story

Telltale Games and Robert Kirkman, creator and writer of The Walking Dead for his Skybound imprint at Image Comics, have officially revealed The Walking Dead: Season Two – A Telltale Games Series. The second season will premiere later this year on OS X, Windows, home consoles, and iOS, with additional platforms to be announced.

The Walking Dead: Season Two will continue the story of Clementine, a young girl orphaned at the outset of the undead apocalypse, now left to her own devices to seek safety and survive in a world gone mad. Now assuming the role of an ordinary child, players will struggle to outwit both the dead and the living in situations that will test their morals. They will control the flow of the story through their decisions and actions.

"The terrifying nature of Robert Kirkman's world has allowed Telltale to push the boundaries of interactive drama in video games to a place that has had fans anxious to know what will happen next in this series," said Dan Connors, Co-Founder and CEO of Telltale Games. "Today we can finally lift the veil, albeit only a little, on how this story will continue, and we'll soon be putting players in the shoes of a lead role that will challenge their expectations of how to survive in a world where no one can be trusted."

Expected to premiere later this year, The Walking Dead: Season Two – A Telltale Games Series will consist of five episodes that will be released for digital download over the course of the season and will conclude in 2014. Players can save 10% off of the purchase price of the PC/Mac versions with a pre-order of the season pass, giving them access to all five episodes for the total cost of $22.49 USD or equivalent when ordering through the Telltale Online Store, or through the Steam digital distribution service.

Additionally, this November, Telltale Games will release The Walking Dead: A Telltale Games Series – Game of the Year Edition to retailers across North America for Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system, and PC. The Game of the Year Edition will include all five episodes of the award-winning series, plus the critically-acclaimed episode '400 Days,' as well as access to the series' original score and exclusive behind-the-scenes video. Currently available for pre-order at retailers everywhere, the Game of the Year Edition will be available for $29.99 USD or equivalent.

To date, The Walking Dead: A Telltale Games Series has sold more than 21 million episodes worldwide, earning more than 90 Game of the Year honors from outlets including Metacritic, USA Today, Wired, Spike TV VGAs, Yahoo!, The Telegraph, Mashable, Polygon, Destructoid and GamesRadar, and was also the recipient of two BAFTA Video Games Awards for Best Story and Best Mobile Game.

The Walking Dead is set in the world of Robert Kirkman's award-winning comic book series and offers an emotionally-charged, tailored game experience where a player's actions and choices affect how their story plays out across the entire series.

IMG Reviews BioShock Infinite
6:00 AM | Cord Kruse | 7 comments

Inside Mac Games has posted a new review of Aspyr Media's BioShock Infinite. Developed by Irrational Games and brought to the Mac by Aspyr, BioShock Infinite introduces an "entirely new narrative experience that lifts players out of the familiar confines of Rapture and rockets them to Columbia, an immense city in the sky."

Here's an excerpt:

The world seems very realistic. There is generally plenty of background activity, be it a local NPC walking here and there, or people in conversion about some issue or event, or enemy chatter as they attack you. Debris blows about in the breeze, vending machines wiggle their animated figures and flash their lights, while calling out to get your attention. This game is filled with sights and wonder. One could spend a long time just exploring the various spots, rooms, and buildings. But since there is a goal to each section, eventually you will need to confront the battle! And while all this background animation is going on, moving through the game is very smooth and clean. Rarely did I run into any issues with too much activity bogging down my machine.

Winter Wolves Releases Nicole Dating Sim
6:00 AM | Cord Kruse | Comment on this story

Winter Wolves, indie developer of dating sims and roleplaying games, recently announced the release of Nicole, a new otome life/dating simulation. Players take the role of a young student experiencing college for the first time. To succeed they will need to strike a balance between school and recreation while avoiding becoming the next in a string of mysterious disappearances.

Winter Wolves, developers of several award-winning dating sims and roleplay games, has announced the release of "Nicole", a otome life / dating simulation game.

Nicole is thrilled that she managed to get into her first choice school and is looking forward to experiencing college life there. However, as soon as she moves into the university dorms, she finds out that there’s been a series of mysterious disappearances going on around the campus! So far, three girls have already gone missing and Nicole could be next if she’s not too careful – not quite the ideal college experience Nicole had in mind.

Nicole is a dating sim that revolves around your day-to-day life as a college student. You can take up part-time jobs to earn money, explore various locations, do recreational and extra-curricular activities, and meet intriguing characters like Darren, Kurt, Jeff and Ted. You might even get to date the culprit!

Choose which actions to perform each day with a simple and intuitive interface. Improve Nicole's skills and keep her morale and energy well balanced, otherwise she won't be able to perform well in her daily activities.

Nicole is the perfect game to play for Halloween for all audiences, mixing funny situations and dialogues with spooky scenes, but without unnecessary graphical violence or blood.

The game is available for PC, Mac and Linux: the free demo is available for everyone at www.winterwolves.com. Registration is only US$19.99, and may be handled online from the company's web site.

Nicole is available now for $19.99. Check out the site below for more information.
