Adventurezator: When Pigs Fly Announced
6:00 AM | Cord Kruse | Comment on this story

Pigasus Games has announced work on Adventurezator: When Pigs Fly, a new adventure game which the developer hopes will breathe new life into the old adventure game formula. A:WPF will do away with rigid puzzle solutions, instead allowing players to make use of the interactive environment as they see fit. The game will also feature a toolset for gamers wishing to create their own adventure scenarios.

Gaming has evolved by leaps and bounds, and yet, the adventure genre clings tenaciously to its roots of pixel-hunting and ridiculous item combinations. Adventurezator: When Pigs Fly aims to change that, uprooting decades of senseless tradition through user-created content and emergent game design.

Imagine an adventure game without rigid scripts or stupidly ludicrous puzzles, but rather, a world driven by millions of possible interactions among objects and characters. An axe, for example, is a "chopper," and any object that is "choppable" is just kindling in the making. Simple, right?

In Adventurezator, from Pigasus Games, there is no fumbling around lost for hours because: you only talked to a character three times instead of four, or you tried cutting the rope with the sword instead of the knife. Yeah...that's just dumb.

Adventurezator is throwing the days of repetitious replays out the window. In addition to the main storyline, Sandbox mode gives players the same tools as the developers to create and share their own scenarios, link them together into larger story arcs, and create their own custom cutscenes.

Adventurezator: When Pigs Fly is currently on Kickstarter.

"I'm getting to make not only a game I really want to create, but also a game I really want to play as a gamer," says Project Lead, Fabio 'Petrucio' Stange. "Now, the really terrifying part is that this is the big moment of truth for me – this is THE one project of my life, and will probably have a huge impact on it. This is the chance I’ve always wanted to have, and the game that thirteen year old boy playing SNES always wanted to create."

Oh, and did we mention that Petrucio was formerly a professional poker player? Yeah, we just thought we'd throw that out there.

Adventurezator: When Pigs Fly is currently the subject of a Kickstarter campaign. Check out the links below for more information.
