Soldak Entertainment has released patch version 1.016 for Drox Operative, its starship action RPG. The game puts players in the role of an elite starship captain and features warring alien races, fierce space battles, a dynamic and evolving galaxy, and co-op multiplayer.
Eons ago the Drox ruled the galaxy through their mighty Operatives. These elite starship captains were trained to accomplish the impossible at whatever cost necessary. Whether employing stealth or brute force, they were always deadly. Using these Operatives, the Drox built a starlane system for quick travel amongst the stars, colonized and conquered millions of planets, and ruled the galaxy with an iron grip for over 100,000 years. Eventually realizing their Operatives were a threat, they attempted to assassinate all of them. They failed. The following Galactic Civil War was devastating.Read more at the links below.
Drox Operative Patches
Thousands of years later, the Drox are extinct, but the secretive Drox Operative guild lives on. They have learned their lesson though: loyalty to any one race is foolish. They now work for whoever can pay. And pay they do! Empires might span hundreds of planets and thousands of ships, but when a critical task arises, they still turn to an Operative.
In the new space race, the major races are scouting, colonizing, and expanding, trying to take over the galaxy by diplomacy, technology, war, or any other means their scheming minds can contemplate.
As a Drox Operative it's NOT your job to manage all of those annoying people, build thousands of buildings, play nice with your enemies, or balance the budget. It IS your job to pick the winning side and maybe even help them conquer the galaxy if you're being nice, more importantly though is to rake in as many credits as possible, well that and build the coolest, deadliest ship in the known universe. Not many screw with an Operative captaining a Dreadnaught!
- Explore a dynamic and evolving galaxy
- Explore a unique sector of the galaxy in every game, with different "monsters", ship components, quests, and even races
- Fight in the galactic war between the various alien races
- Battle hundreds of different enemy starships
- Build the coolest and deadliest starship in the galaxy
- Outfit your ship with thousands of components and crew
- Adventure with your friends with co-op multiplayer

The Lord of the Rings: War In The North Arrives August 29

Feral Interactive today announced that the multiplayer action role-playing game The Lord of the Rings: War in the North is coming to the Mac. Developed by Snowblind Studios and published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment for consoles and PC, the game will be released on August 29th.
“Middle-earth is one of the most captivating fictional worlds ever created,” said David Stephen, Managing Director of Feral Interactive. “The Lord of the Rings: War in the North gives players the chance to explore its more mysterious corners as brand new characters.”The Lord of the Rings: War in the North for the Mac will retail in North America for US $29.99, £19.99 (inc. VAT) in the UK and €24.99 (inc. VAT) throughout Europe.
In The Return of the King, Gandalf alludes to a conflict that took place while the Fellowship were journeying to Mordor: “With his far-reaching right hand, Sauron might have done great evil in the North. Yet all that has been averted because a handful of heroes stood in his path...”
Inspired by this hint of epic deeds, The Lord of the Rings: War in the North is the untold story of three adventurers, Eradan the ranger, Andriel the elf and Farin the dwarf, who form their own fellowship and journey through Middle-earth to protect the North from Sauron’s malevolent forces.
Players can embark on the quest alone, playing as each of the characters in turn, or with a friend in co-operative multiplayer mode. They will forge a new path that will take them to hitherto unvisited domains of Middle-earth as well as legendary locations such as Rivendell and the Misty Mountains, encountering both well-loved characters and new arrivals such as Belaram, one of the Great Eagles of Middle-earth, whom they can summon to fight alongside them in battle.
A compelling combination of visceral action and immersive role-playing, The Lord of the Rings: War in the North pits players against trolls, orcs, giant spiders and other monstrous creatures. Every enemy slain helps players upgrade the trio’s abilities, be it Eradan’s swordsmanship, Andriel’s magic or Farin’s fearsome skill with an axe.
Minimum system requirements call for a 2.0GHz Intel Mac with at least 4GB RAM, 512MB or better graphics card, and Mac OS 10.7.5 or later. The game does not support the following graphics cards: ATI X1xxx series, ATI HD2xxx series, Intel GMA series, Intel HD3000, NVIDIA 7xxx, Nvidia 8xxx series, NVIDIA 9400, NVIDIA 320M. The HD4000 card requires an Intel i7 CPU. These system requirements are provisional and subject to change before release.
