The Raven - Legacy of a Master Thief Deluxe Edition Begins
6:00 AM | IMG News | Comment on this story

Nordic Games and KING Art have released the first episode of the point and click adventure, The Raven - Legacy of a Master Thief Deluxe Edition. The game revolves around the player's attempts to capture an art thief in 1960's Europe. Nordic previously worked with KING Art to launch The Book of Unwritten Tales.

The Deluxe Edition upgrade includes the soundtrack, storybook, making-of Booklet, Papercraft mask (printable) and Poster (printable).

'The Raven ¬– Legacy of a Master Thief' is a thrilling crime adventure in three episodes from the creators of 'The Book of Unwritten Tales'. Full of twists and turns, it immerses you in both sides of the story, combining thrill-of-the-chase whodunit with the risk and reward of a heist story.

Paris, 1960. Europe is in the grip of the gentleman master thief The Raven. His burglaries are spectacular and he always emerges unscathed. Young hotshot investigator Nicolas Legrand stuns the public when he confronts the master thief and fatally wounds him.

London, 1964. An ancient ruby – one of the legendary 'Eyes of the Sphinx' – is stolen from the British Museum. The only clue at the crime scene: a raven feather. Is somebody trying to follow in the Raven's footsteps? – Legrand is back on the case.

At the same time in Zurich a phone rings. Constable Anton Jakob Zellner looks up from behind a mountain of files. He has no idea what lies hidden in a bank vault, just a few hundred meters away from him. As he reaches for the receiver his life takes a crucial turn…

Features:

  • King Art's thrilling crime adventure – full of twists and turns – immerses you in both sides of the story, combining elements of classic whodunit and heist stories
  • Cinematic presentation with hundreds of camera angles and dozens of cutscenes
  • Optional puzzles and scoring system for adventure game veterans
  • Notebook and help function for adventure game newcomers
  • Breathtaking real-time 3D graphics in full HD
The Raven - Legacy of a Master Thief Deluxe Edition is available now for $26.99 (USD), 10% off the regular price.

Dropchord Makes The Leap To Mac
6:00 AM | Cord Kruse | Comment on this story

Double Fine Productions has announced Dropchord, its new music-driven score challenge game, is now available for the Leap Motion Controller on Windows and Mac. It will be released for the OUYA game console on July 31, and iOS and Android mobile devices on August 1.

Dropchord features fast-paced and addictive gameplay with a focus on music and visual effects and was developed by key members of the team behind Double Fine’s acclaimed Xbox 360 title Kinect Party. The game was financed in part by frequent Double Fine collaborator Dracogen, Inc.

“Truly, this is a cornucopia of devices and platforms. I actually didn’t even know they made this many ways to play video games!” admitted Double Fine president and CEO Tim Schafer.

“Well, I did,” said Dracogen founder Steven Dengler. “And I love them all.”

The Leap Motion Controller is the world’s most accurate 3D motion control device. It allows people to play Dropchord on their computer entirely by moving their hands and fingers in the air. OUYA is the first totally open video game console, allowing both developers and gamers a platform for creativity.

“That’s true, disembodied blog post narrator,” said Dengler. “I’m practicing playing the Leap version with my hands while I use each of my feet to manipulate the iOS and Android versions. Wait until you see how I’m managing the OUYA controller.”

“Gross,” replied Schafer.

Dropchord’s original soundtrack, contributed by a range of acclaimed musicians including Austin Wintory (Journey, Kinect Party), Sam Hulick (Mass Effect), and Brian Trifon (Assassin’s Creed II), is now available to purchase on iTunes, Amazon, and Google Play.

A single-track “Continuous Mix” of the soundtrack can also be streamed at Double Fine’s YouTube channel.
