IMG Reviews Call Of Duty: Black Ops
6:00 AM | Cord Kruse | Comment on this story

Inside Mac Games has posted a new review of Aspyr Media's latest: Call of Duty: Black Ops. The game includes CoD: Black Ops and the First Strike Content Pack, which offers 4 new multiplayer maps as well as an "exciting zombie experience", complete with its own multiplayer map.

Here's an excerpt:

Black Ops also includes a rather robust zombie mode. Either solo or in coop with up to 3 other players, you choose a map and must hold out against as many waves of zombies as possible. Every round the zombies in increase in number and speed. Killing zombies gives you points which can be used to buy guns, ammo, perks and unlock new sections of the map. Zombies always spawn outside the play area and break in through carries to get at you. These barriers can be repaired, also giving you points. In the beginning its easy to camp an area and repair, but as the waves increase you are forced to move around to find better guns to buy and search out perk machines. At a point its nearly impossible to bother repairing barriers, instead frantically running around the map shooting whatever moves. There's almost an exclusive emphasis on headshots with anything that's not a shotgun as the zombies are incredibly resilient to anything else.

Wasteland 2 Status Update
6:00 AM | Cord Kruse | Comment on this story

In a new blog post InXile Entertainment's Brian Fargo recently
offered a status update on the company's upcoming Wasteland 2 RPG. Much like its classic post-apocalyptic predecessor, the game will center around the exploits of a band of desert rangers struggling to keep order in a world recovering from disaster.

This game is going to be much deeper than most people realize and I will go out on a limb to say it is nearly impossible for two people to have the same experience playing through the game as there are so many nuanced decisions. The caliber of writing is very impressive and for those who wanted an M rated experienceÖ you will be more than satisfied. We donít pull any punches on the subject matters of a dark post apocalyptic world. My attitude is that if you going into a genre that has expectations then GO THERE.. all the way. It is for the same reasons I tend to love all the great shows and writing that I find on Showtime and HBO and find myself turned off by the material on network television. I donít like to see pandering to a mass audience for my TV shows and I certainly wonít allow this game to soften up a rough world.

Baldur's Gate Enhanced Edition: Dorn Il-Khan Unburdened
6:00 AM | Cord Kruse | Comment on this story

Overhaul Games recently released the third informational update about the new NPCs players can choose to join their team in the upcoming Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition. This time the focus turned to the final of the three characters, Dorn Il-Khan, with a new short story about the character and several audio samples of his voice. BGEE is an updated version of Bioware's fantasy role playing game set in the Forgotten Realms. The game will feature an enhanced version of the Infinity Engine, the Tales of the Sword Coast expansion pack, new adventures, and new party members.

The next day the men allowed his mother to ride in the second wagon, leaving Dorn to trudge along in the dust. Just before noon, Dorn detected a strange scent on the western breeze. He raised his head to sniff.

The archer grinned. "Salt water. We'll see Luskan after the next hill."

Past the hill, Dorn looked down to see the river and the road both winding toward a walled city beside a vast expanse of water.

The City of Sails came by its name honestly, its harbor filled with ships. The sails on the northern bank were all white, unlike the motley colors of those on the southern docks. The River Mirar divided the city into two unequal sections, its mouth filled with islets. Beyond the farthest of its three bridges, a four-spired tower rose from the largest isle. About a third of the city lay on the north bank, where the walls stood higher and the buildings loomed larger. To the south, hundreds of buildings crowded the narrow streets.
