Radar Chaos Hawaii Edition Takes Flight At Mac Game Store
6:00 AM | IMG News | Comment on this story

Radar Chaos Hawaii Edition, a simulation from Big Fat Simulations, is now available for purchase at Mac Game Store. The realistic radar-based air traffic control simulation puts players in charge of airspace over the Hawaiian islands and challenges them to keep the skies safe.

Radar Chaos Hawaii Edition is now available. The Original Radar Chaos was designed with the new player in mind, and included starter levels. The Hawaii edition is more of a 'simulation' than a 'game'. The location, maps, routes and procedures are based on a real location. For years, users have asked that we base our games on real-world locations. We have not done so until now. Hawaii is the ideal location for a radar simulation, as it offers the gameplay scenarios that we are trying to achieve.

Radar Chaos: Hawaii Edition has six levels, each guaranteed to keep you very busy. There are two "high level" sectors and four terminal sectors. The terminal sectors focus on airports such as Honolulu, Maui, Hilo and Kona. The high level sectors are vastly different, where your job to sequence arriving oceanic traffic into 'streams' for the receiving terminal sectors.

Features:

  • Six awesome levels
  • Real pilot voices
  • Conflict prediction and detection
  • Flight data board
  • Advanced conflict management tools
  • A full suite of tutorial videos
Radar Chaos Hawaii Edition is available now for $14.99 (USD).

StarCraft II: Heart Of The Swarm Unit Details Uncovered
6:00 AM | Cord Kruse | Comment on this story

Kotaku and Blizzplanet have revealed some new information about the units in Blizzard Entertainment's upcoming Heart of the Swarm expansion for Starcraft II. Koktaku showcased new units in a video, while Blizzplanet offered screenshots and unit descriptions.

From Blizzplanet:

Heart of the Swarm adds two new Zerg units: The Viper and the Swarm Host.

The Viper looks like a giant dragonfly. It requires a Spawning Pool, an Infestation Pit and eventually a Hive. It has some fun utility abilities:

Consume allows it to consume 200 life of a friendly building over 20 sec to convert into 50 energy. Thatís a nice battery recharger.

The Abduct ability costs 75 energy and letís the Viper pull a friendly or enemy unit to the Viperís location. Basically, a harpoon-like tongue that pulls long-range units into your Hydralisks or melee/anti-air unitsí range. It could also remove your own units from sure death if you use it strategically. Letís say an expensive Ultralisk goes in to do damage, and you pull it out of harmís way before it gets killed so that it regenerates back home for later use.

Blinding Cloud creates a cloud for 10 sec that reduces attack range of biological and mechanical units under it to melee range. It has strategic use against enemy Marines, Marauders, Hydralisks, Roaches, Siege Tanks, High Templars and other range-attack units.
