LEGO Batman 2 Swings Into Action September 6
6:00 AM | Cord Kruse | Comment on this story

Feral Interactive announced today that LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes will be released for the Mac on Thursday, September 6th. Developed by TT Games and published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment for consoles, handhelds and Windows PC, LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes "takes the much-loved brick-based action of LEGO games to the next level with an intricate open-world structure and sparkling dialogue."

"LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes is full of wonderful touches," said David Stephen, Managing Director of Feral Interactive. "We were especially delighted to hear John Williams' classic Superman theme play whenever the Man of Steel took flight."

With a specially-written story by TT Games, LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes features a cast of amazing characters from the DC Comics universe including Superman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern and of course the Dynamic Duo. When Joker and Lex Luthor form a deadly alliance, it's up to Batman, Robin, Superman and the rest of The Justice League to save Gotham City from the Clown Prince and his partner in crime!

Each member of The Justice League has their own super powers and equipment, including Superman's super strength and freeze breath, Wonder Woman's golden lasso and Green Lantern's power ring. The Dynamic Duo's suits give Batman the power to launch rockets, turn invisible and fly, and Robin the ability to walk up walls and perform acrobatics. Players of all ages can become these characters and more, taking on the villains in single-player mode, or with their friends and family in drop in/drop out co-operative play.

LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes open-world structure gives players the freedom to explore Gotham City on foot, in a vehicle, and by using Superman's flight abilities or The Flash's super-speed. This is also the first LEGO game to use voice-acting to allow its dashing heroes and dastardly villains to fully articulate their rivalries.

Minimum system requirements call for a 1.4GHz Intel Mac with at least 2.0GB RAM, 128MB or better graphics card, and Mac OS 10.6.8 or later. The following graphics cards are not supported: ATI X1xxx series, NVIDIA 7xxx series and Intel GMA series.

LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes for Mac will retail in North America for US $29.99, £19.99 (inc. VAT) in the UK, and €24.99 (inc. VAT) throughout Europe. Check out the links below to learn more and view the game's trailer at Feral's YouTube channel.

Electronic Arts has announced that SimCity will be coming to Mac in February 2013 as a digital download via the upcoming Mac version of its Origin store. Development of the latest incarnation of the popular city building sim is being led by Maxis. SimCity Mac will feature "the same deep, rich gameplay that will define the PC experience as players on both platforms compete or collaborate to create a new world, together."

“To the millions of SimCity fans out there, we’ve been listening and can proudly say that your calls have been answered. SimCity has a long legacy on the Mac and the team at Maxis is ensuring that it will be the deepest, richest and most accessible SimCity game yet.”

“Whether you owned a Macintosh or a DOS PC, we all have memories of laying down zones and reticulating splines from our youth,” said Lucy Bradshaw, Senior Vice President and General Manager of EA’s Maxis Label. “To the millions of SimCity fans out there, we’ve been listening and can proudly say that your calls have been answered. SimCity has a long legacy on the Mac and the team at Maxis is ensuring that it will be the deepest, richest and most accessible SimCity game yet.”

Attendees of gamescom 2012, taking place at Cologne Messe from August 15 – 19, can be among the first in the world to go hands-on with SimCity for PC. Future mayors will be able to experience the next generation of city-builders through a guided hands-on demo where they will also catch their first look at the SimCity World. This new feature set is the connective tissue that allows players to boast about their progress through CityLog, compete in Global Challenges, compare their accolades in Leaderboards and affect the global economy in the Global Market.

Eager mayors who are interested in getting an early start at changing the world of tomorrow can head over to www.SimCity.com/beta to sign-up for the SimCity beta. Participants will have the chance to play SimCity on PC before it ships in February. Those that are chosen will be asked to provide their views and feedback on their experience playing to help improve the development of the game.

For more than two decades, the king of city-building simulators has sworn in millions of virtual mayors from around the world. With its return in February 2013, SimCity will engage an entirely new generation of PC and Mac gamers as they take charge of their own customized cities and build a world that co-exists alongside friends. For the first time in SimCity franchise history, players’ decisions will have long-lasting repercussions that will extend beyond their city limits. Together, players will address real global challenges such as climate change, the search for renewable resources and natural disasters. It’s up to the players to decide whether to compete or collaborate to shape the world – for better or for worse.

More information about the game will be revealed in the days ahead. Learn more at the link below.

Shadowrun Online Reaches Kickstarter Target
6:00 AM | Cord Kruse | 1 comment

Cliffhanger Productions recently reached its Kickstarter target for funding of Shadowrun Online. A separate project from Harebraned Schemes' single player focused Shadowrun Returns, Cliffhanger's title will center on multiplayer action with co-op gameplay and player vs player faction wars set in a persistent world.

Shadowrun Online - is a cross-platform, online PC, Mac, Linux(see FAQ), iOS/iPad, Android Tablet and Ouya based tactical turn-based RPG set in the award winning world of Shadowrun. Create one account and play your game across multiple devices in whatever way you prefer!

Imagine the magic and creatures of Lord of the Rings crashing at full speed into a dystopian cyberpunk future in the vein of Blade Runner! In the 2070s of our world, dragons are running mega corporations, Amerindian braves battle it out with Ork street gangs over turf, elf hackers glide through the all-encompassing matrix and cybered up street samurai face toxic spirits in the rubble of ruined streets. And YOU will be shaping the future of this world!

Shadowrun Online is the second Kickstarter video game project set in the unique world of Shadowrun. The first project, Shadowrun Returns, focused primarily on providing a great single player adventure experience, while Shadowrun Online - like the pen & paper version - is all about experiencing the awesome world and gritty atmosphere of Shadowrun together with friends. Fluid co-op gameplay and intense player vs player faction wars set in a persistent and evolving world - this is what Shadowrun Online is about!

And the best part is: In Shadowrun Online the collective actions of players will not only determine the fate of the online game world, but our unique player-driven plotline will enable you to determine the future of the whole Shadowrun Universe! Events players trigger will also cross over into the pen and paper storyline - so you can shape the future of the Shadowrun Universe!

At its core SRO is a full Unity3D online game, accessible through Windows, Mac, Android, iOS- and Linux and on Ouya, with high quality graphics and great effects. It is fully cross platform, meaning you can play it on your tablet in the train, then go home to sit down at your PC to continue with the same character. Highly individualizable characters and a turn based system, which balances fast-paced action with deep tactical combat, make it a true Shadowrun experience.

Shadowrun Online is currently planned for a May 2013 release. Check out the site below for more information.
