6:00 AM | Cord Kruse | Comment on this story

Puppy Punch Productions has announced that Colour Bind will soon be available for Mac and Windows PCs. The physics puzzler introduces players to a world where gravity is governed by color rather than mass. To succeed they will need to master Colour Bind's unique mechanics.

Colour Bind is a physics platform-puzzler set in an abstract world where gravity is determined not by mass, but by colour. Navigate this unique world by manipulating colour and gravity to solve each level. Beating each unique puzzle in Colour Bind will take patience, intelligence, quick reflexes and sometimes even a helping hand from a friend.

A TRUE CHALLENGE: Over 50 unique puzzles with multiple solutions will keep you platforming for a long time. This game is hard. Early-90?s hard. Donít be afraid to step back and think.

PROCEDURAL MUSIC: Colour doesnít only control your physical experience, but your aural as well. Each colour has a different music track, and combining and changing your colour will mix these tracks on the fly to transform your auditory experience.

PLAY WITH A FRIEND: 20 local co-op levels that take not only two hands, but two minds to defeat. It will take impeccable timing and skill to reach the end. The ultimate challenge for the ambidextrous gamer.

CREATE YOUR OWN LEVELS: ColourBindís challenge doesnít stop once youíve beaten every level. Download new levels through Steam Workshop or create your own with ColourBindís fully featured level editor for a never-ending experience!

North American Servers Battle.net Accounts Compromised
6:00 AM | Cord Kruse | 4 comments

Blizzard Entertainment has announced that its internal network was recently breached, possibly compromising some global email addresses and the Battle.net accounts on North American servers. The company recommends users change their passwords, and will be offering further updates in the days to come.

Even when you are in the business of fun, not every week ends up being fun. This week, our security team found an unauthorized and illegal access into our internal network here at Blizzard. We quickly took steps to close off this access and began working with law enforcement and security experts to investigate what happened.

At this time, weíve found no evidence that financial information such as credit cards, billing addresses, or real names were compromised. Our investigation is ongoing, but so far nothing suggests that these pieces of information have been accessed.

Some data was illegally accessed, including a list of email addresses for global Battle.net users, outside of China. For players on North American servers (which generally includes players from North America, Latin America, Australia, New Zealand, and Southeast Asia) the answer to the personal security question, and information relating to Mobile and Dial-In Authenticators were also accessed. Based on what we currently know, this information alone is NOT enough for anyone to gain access to Battle.net accounts.

We also know that cryptographically scrambled versions of Battle.net passwords (not actual passwords) for players on North American servers were taken. We use Secure Remote Password protocol (SRP) to protect these passwords, which is designed to make it extremely difficult to extract the actual password, and also means that each password would have to be deciphered individually. As a precaution, however, we recommend that players on North American servers change their password. Moreover, if you have used the same or similar passwords for other purposes, you may want to consider changing those passwords as well.

In the coming days, we'll be prompting players on North American servers to change their secret questions and answers through an automated process. Additionally, we'll prompt mobile authenticator users to update their authenticator software. As a reminder, phishing emails will ask you for password or login information. Blizzard Entertainment emails will never ask for your password. We deeply regret the inconvenience to all of you and understand you may have questions.

Blizzard Entertainment recently announced plans to update the World of Warcraft Scroll of Resurrection feature in preparation for the Mists of Pandaria expansion. The Scroll enables players to gain rewards from enticing friends who have left World of Warcraft to return to the game.

With the upcoming release of Mists of Pandaria, the Scroll of Resurrection system will be updated to accommodate the new talent specialization system, monk class, and pandaren race. The following changes will be made in an upcoming patch prior to the expansionís release:
  • The Scroll of Resurrection leveling system will be updated to work with Mists of Pandariaís new specialization and talent system.
  • Resurrected characters will no longer have their talents preselected for them; however, a specialization will still available to be selected prior to entering the game.
  • Players who receive a Scroll of Resurrection will not be able to apply rewards (e.g. boost to level 80) to monk characters.
  • Players who send or receive a Scroll of Resurrection will not be able to apply rewards (e.g. in-game mount, boost to level 80) to pandaren characters that have not yet chosen a faction.
