Cold Stream DLC Released For Left 4 Dead 2 6:00 AM | Cord Kruse | Comment on this story
Valve has announced that Cold Stream, a new DLC pack for the zombie filled Left 4 Dead 2, is now available. Among other things the pack includes new versions of the original Left 4 Dead's Death Toll, Dead Air, Blood Harvest, and Crash Course levels. Set in the zombie apocalypse, Left 4 Dead 2 (L4D2) is the highly anticipated sequel to the award-winning Left 4 Dead, the #1 co-op game of 2008. This co-operative action horror FPS takes you and your friends through the cities, swamps and cemeteries of the Deep South, from Savannah to New Orleans across five expansive campaigns. You'll play as one of four new survivors armed with a wide and devastating array of classic and upgraded weapons. In addition to firearms, you'll also get a chance to take out some aggression on infected with a variety of carnage-creating melee weapons, from chainsaws to axes and even the deadly frying pan. You'll be putting these weapons to the test against (or playing as in Versus) three horrific and formidable new Special Infected. You'll also encounter five new “uncommon” common infected, including the terrifying Mudmen. Helping to take L4D's frantic, action-packed gameplay to the next level is AI Director 2.0. This improved Director has the ability to procedurally change the weather you'll fight through and the pathways you'll take, in addition to tailoring the enemy population, effects, and sounds to match your performance. L4D2 promises a satisfying and uniquely challenging experience every time the game is played, custom-fitted to your style of play. Read more at the links below.

The Walking Dead Episode 2 Reviewed 6:00 AM | Cord Kruse | Comment on this story
GameSpot has posted a new review of Starved for Help, the second episode in The Walking Dead adventure series. Based on the comic book series by Robert Kirkman, Starved for Help continues the story of a band of zombie apocalypse survivors. Episode 2 is uniquely tailored to the choices players made in the first episode. From the review: Though the plot is predictable, it is told very well with a supreme ick factor that will leave you shocked and nauseous. The tough choices that you're faced with through action and conversation, along with regular bouts of scrambly quick-time arcade sequences of the same sort as those featured in the first game, thicken an atmosphere of apprehension. There is more depth here than in Episode 1. You take an active role in more situations now and have to think when conversing with characters or committing yourself to courses of action. Where in the last chapter Lee was something of a lone wolf keeping himself apart from his companions due to worries about his criminal past being revealed, here he is a member of a group dealing with stresses like the daily threat from walkers and the ever-present risk of starvation. The sense of a broken moral order hangs over everything and forces you to make choices between actions that can be justified for survival and actions that cross the line into barbarity. Check out the full review at the page listed below.
