Walking Dead Episode 3 In August, Future Walking Dead Plans
6:00 AM | Cord Kruse | Comment on this story

Telltale Games recently revealed that the third episode of its episodic game adaptation of The Walking Dead comic series will be available in the middle of August. In an interview Telltale's Steve Allison also revealed that the five part series is not the last Walking Dead title the company plans to develop.

From the Telltale Blog:

For many of you, the most important thing is to let you know when the next episode (Episode 3: Long Road Ahead) will be available, and although we can't give you an exact date at this time, we can say that episode three will be ready in the middle of August, and that we and our partners will do all that we can to release all platforms and regions as close together as possible.
From The Verge:
"We believe there is no better company than Telltale to bring complex narrative IP to interactive entertainment," senior vice president of marketing Steve Allison said in a statement to Polygon. "Our first episodic game series based on The Walking Dead has sold nearly 1.7 million episodes to consumers in just our first 8 weeks with no signs of slowing down. We have three more episodes to go with Episode 3 targeted for August as we confirmed yesterday.

"Following the digital release of our fifth episode we will also be coming to North American retail shortly thereafter and this will not be the last The Walking Dead game series that we do."

The war between the states has started again at Macgamestore.com with the release of Anuman Interactive's North vs. South. The remastered version of the 90's strategy title puts players in charge of either the Union or Confederate forces and features improved graphics and user-friendliness.

In the colorful strategy game NORTH vs SOUTH, you play the head of one of the armies of the Civil War. Your aim is to conquer American territory. This is a remastered version of the game that was released in 1990, with improved graphics and user-friendliness that are up to current standards.

Head up the Yankees or Confederates, and destroy your enemy! Taking up positions, capturing states, assaulting and capturing enemy forts, attacking trains and protecting your railroads . . . you'll have to deal with everything! Capture the port to use the reinforcements coming from Europe.

Protect yourself from storms and be wary of those Indians in the war and those Mexican bandits . . . if you don't, you'll be in trouble!

To come out in one piece, you'll have to master taking turns, armed battles in real time, 1 against 30 shoot-outs, and horseback train chases.

Whether you play alone or with others, the objective is the same - emerge victorious from these eventful combats!

Features:

  • This cult game from 1990 has been remastered with excellent graphics and is more user friendly.
  • Relive the Civil War in the universe of the Blue Tunics

  • RAM: 256 MB

IMG Reviews Gemini Wars
6:00 AM | Cord Kruse | Comment on this story

Inside Mac Games has posted a new review of Gemini Wars from Camel 101. The real-time strategy game is set in the cold depths of outer space, and offers an epic campaign controlling fleets of ships in massive battles.

Here's an excerpt:

On the graphics end, the game looks great (barring the briefing models). The spaceships glow under the light of their engines, the camera gets hit by lens flare all the time, the blasts get absorbed by pulsing shields, and everything explodes very satisfyingly. The interface is also rather good-looking, with plenty of animated buttons to go around. This really does seem like where most of the love and care went, to be honest, as the other elements of the game are rather weak by comparison.

IMG Reviews Roads Of Rome 3
6:00 AM | Cord Kruse | Comment on this story

Inside Mac Games has posted a new review of Roads of Rome 3 from Realore Studios. The game combines elements of strategy and time management titles, challenging players to save the Roman empire from barbarian invasion.

Here's an excerpt:

You see, the barbarians that used to just sit around and demand your resources for access to certain areas in different levels have begun acting, well, barbaric. They’ve been looting, pillaging, and more importantly setting fire to your settlements. So, the first thing you have to do in most levels is build a pumping station to get water to put out the fires. Then things get back to normal: building various structures, collecting resources, rebuilding roads. There are other new structures as well: Blacksmiths and Workshops allow you to have regular access to axes and hammers respectively, which speed up your use of those tools to collect resources and build things. These were previously available as random objects on certain levels; now you have to decide when to build them and how much to level them up on levels where they’re available. Taken together, these new structures definitely add to your need to strategize on certain levels and decide what, and in what order, to build your structures.
