Tropic 3: Gold Edition Coming January 26
6:00 AM | Cord Kruse | Comment on this story

Feral Interactive has announced that Tropico 3: Gold Edition will be released on January 26, 2012. Developed by Haemimont Games and published by Kalypso Media for Windows, Tropico 3: Gold Edition is a re-imagining of the classic construction and management simulation Tropico.

Tropico 3: Gold Edition is a combination of strategic city-builder and humorous political simulator that invites players to reign as El Presidente, dictator of the resource-rich Caribbean nation of Tropico. To govern is to choose, and as players build their island’s infrastructure, manage the economy and keep competing factions on side, they will have plenty of opportunity to find out whether they prefer to rule with a velvet glove or an iron fist.

To maintain their grip on power, players will need to create a cult of personality around El Presidente, composing his silver-tongued speeches, manipulating the media and building monuments in his honor. El Presidente’s character will determine the way he is regarded by the people, and whether he is inclined to run Tropico as a vacation paradise, a police state, an industrial metropolis, or all three!

Each of the 15 missions in Tropico 3: Gold Edition’s campaign mode challenges players to develop a single island, each with its own victory conditions, within a set time frame. Tropico 3: Gold Edition includes the Absolute Power expansion pack, which contains a completely new 10-mission campaign, additional islands and the ability to issue “Megalomania” edicts such as “Print Money”.

Marble Arena 2 Released
6:00 AM | Cord Kruse | 1 comment

Brightside Entertainment has announced the release of Marble Arena 2, a free physics based 3D marble game. Featuring HD graphics and a built-in editor for creating custom levels, the game challenges players' skills at rolling marbles across a variety of surfaces and through a collection of physics contraptions.

The game features 50 mayhem filled levels, where players will test their skills on several types of surfaces, attempt to master a multitude of physics contraptions and go toe to toe, and sometimes toe to multiple toes, with A.I. controlled enemies bent on preventing players from achieving their goals.

Making it through all these perils in one piece, and in time, has its benefits. Players will be awarded upgrade points for doing so, points that they can use to improve their skills or unlock their favorite from a multitude of marble skins.

If single player action is just not enough action, the game provides a fun multiplayer experience, with a dedicated server running 24/7 and gives anyone the ability to host their own server and play with their friends.

Creative players are given all the tools they'll need to create their own levels, in the form of the built in editor. A quick, fun and easy to use set of tools meant to allow anyone to bring their mayhem inducing ideas to life in a matter of minutes and play them right away.

To complete the experience, the game goes hand in hand with the brand new Marble Arena website, where players will be able to post stats, best times and scores, upload replays of their shenanigans or they very own original levels, for others to download, rate and appreciate.

The webiste is also the place to find video walkthroughs for all the levels in the game, video tutorials for all those creative types out there, and a leaderboard for bragging once you make it to the #1 spot.

Law & Order: Legacies To Be Released Early Next Year
6:00 AM | Cord Kruse | Comment on this story

Telltale Games has announced that it will release Law & Order: Legacies for Mac and Windows PCs early next year. The iPhone and iPad versions of the game will be available this month. The game will feature a "dream team" of investigators and attorneys from the long running Law & Order television franchise, and will give players the chance to solve a case with their favorite team.

Law & Order: Legacies includes the likenesses of popular Law & Order investigators, including: Lennie Briscoe (Jerry Orbach, Law & Order), Rey Curtis (Benjamin Bratt, Law & Order), Olivia Benson (Mariska Hargitay, Law & Order: SVU) and Jack McCoy (Sam Waterston, Law & Order) for a Law & Order “Dream Team” of characters both past and current.

In Law & Order: Legacies players will take on the roles of both investigator and district attorney as they hit the streets to gather evidence and then enter the court room to prosecute the case. As in every episode of the Law & Order series, choice and morality are key factors and every decision made throughout Law & Order: Legacies will affect the outcome and can lead to multiple endings for each case.
